I have worked in technology for many years and am the owner of a NZ Digital Agency.

I have seen communication change with the introduction of new technologies and social tools. This will continue to impact on the way people communicate with others. There are huge positives to embracing the online space – In fact, I promote these at many levels with my clients.

The most immediate benefit is the ease with which we connect and reach out to others, with immediate effect.

The ever-changing way we interact has brought good to our communities – but nothing is perfect and there are downsides.

“The Hidden Pandemic – Surviving Social Media” was written to highlight and draw attention to the reality facing many parents and their children. To become part of our digital wellness resource packs distributed into schools and to provide additional confidence to parents, teachers, caregivers and those that care about our young people to start having some of these much needed conversations.

The online world continues to grow in complexity. There’s often a feeling of being overwhelmed by the number of devices, messages, and demands we come across daily. Considering how addiction and anxiety can be so closely connected, it seems there should be more awareness surrounding both social media and the elements of digital wellness. This book is focused on starting that conversation - #starttheconversation. A conversation between our young people and those that care about them. It covers the pros and cons of social platforms along with suggestions, support and resources focused on well being.

This book shall be included in digital resource packs delivered to councillors in our schools. This will be funded by the Im Enough Charitably Trust.

Chapters include –

✅Social Media: Dangers and Causes for Concern
Start with You
✅Teens and Youth: How to stay safe online (and still have fun).
✅Parents: How to support my child’s online health and safety.
✅You are Enough: The road to yourself.
✅How to develop resilience.

Currently, there are many in our society who have been forced to work and go to classes online. Therefore, this book is offered for free download at this current time. https://imenough.co/programs/

A father said to his daughter “You have graduated with honors, here is a car I bought many years ago.
It is a bit older now but before I give it to you, take it to the used car lot downtown and tell them you want to sell it and see how much they offer you for it.
The daughter went to the used car lot, returned to her father and said, “They offered me $1,000 because they said it looks pretty worn out.”
The father said, now “Take it to the pawn shop.” The daughter went to the pawn shop, returned to her father and said,”The pawn shop offered only $100 because it is an old car.”
The father asked his daughter to go to a car club now and show them the car. The daughter then took the car to the club, returned and told her father,” Some people in the club offered $100,000 for it because it’s a Holden Torana and it's an iconic car and sought by many collectors”
Now the father said this to his daughter,
“The right place values you the right way,”

If you are not valued, do not be angry, it means you are in the wrong place.

Those who know your value are those who appreciate you......Never stay in a place where no one sees your value.
Never!

The founder of Dubai, Sheikh Rashid, was asked about the future of his country, and he replied - "My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I ride a Mercedes, my son rides a Land Rover, and my grandson is going to ride a Land Rover, but my great-grandson is going to have to ride a camel again"

"Why is that", - he was asked? And his reply was - “Hard times create strong men, strong men create easy times. Easy times create weak men, weak men create difficult times. Many will not understand it but you have to raise warriors, not parasites.
